Agreement signed with DIGH
A new agreement for financing HFH Macedonia’s program aimed towards improvement of poverty housing has been signed with the Dutch International Guarantees for Housing Foundation (DIGH). The agreement, worth 1 million EUR and effective as of June 2008, foresees affordable loans for reconstruction and renovation of substandard homes in the next 10 years.
The Dutch International Guarantees for Housing Foundation acts as an intermediary in the financing of affordable housing projects for people with low income in developing countries and countries in economic transition.
This financing from the Netherlands is a scaling up of the existing Home Improvement Fund, launched in 2005 and already providing affordable housing loans for low-income families in Macedonia. The program is being implemented through a partnership between Habitat for Humanity Macedonia and Savings House Moznosti.
