John Finnerty Received by the Macedonian President
In recognition of his continuing support to HFH Macedonia and its low income partner-families, John Finnerty, the Executive Director of HFH East and Central Pasco has been received on August 17, 2010 by the Macedonian President Djorge Ivanov. The reception was held at the presidential summer residence in Ohrid. Zoran Kostov, National Director of HFH Macedonia, attended the reception as well.
Being four times GV team leader to Macedonia John Finnerty not only contributed to Habitat Macedonia’ efforts to improve housing conditions of the poor, but also helped promote locally the concept of voluntarism as developed and widely practiced by Habitat for Humanity. At the same time, his Florida based affiliate has been major supporter of HFH Macedonia.
President Ivanov took the occasion and thanked John Finnerty on his commitment to helping alleviate poverty housing in Macedonia. The President also pointed out that he takes every chance to demonstrate his support HFH Macedonia’s operations, including volunteering himself on the New Builds site in Veles.
