Promotion of Baseline Studies on Roma Housing in the Municipalities of Chair, Prilep and Shtip

Habitat Macedonia as part of the project "Roma Housing Rights for Sustainable Urban Development" promoted the three Baseline Studies on Roma Housing of the population living in the Municipalities of Chair, Prilep and Shtip.

The basis for the preparation of the studies on Roma housing in these municipalities is a survey conducted in 736 families living in the Roma settlement Topaana in the Municipality of Chair, 600 families living in the Roma settlement of Trizla in the Municipality of Prilep and 336 families living in several Roma settlements in Municipality of Stip.

With these baseline studies, we present the current situation in the housing of Roma in these Municipalities, thus contributing to a better understanding of the problems and needs of the Roma community related to housing. Furthermore, the Baseline Studies should serve to identify the priority problems in the local environment, mobilize citizens for involvement in decision-making processes at the local level, as well as to motivate local authorities for their greater engagement in the field of housing and sustainable urban development of Roma settlements.
