Focusing on Housing market development in Macedonia

With Habitat Macedonia’s Business plan 2015-2018 having housing sector in its focus, the organization’s program portfolio has been recently expanded with a new project aimed at supporting equity investments for housing market development. The project has been selected by Habitat for Humanity International’s Terwilliger Center for Innovation in Shelter, officially launched in Quito, Ecuador, at the Habitat III conference last month.
The project in Macedonia is designed to include market mappings and investment analysis, as well as to develop mechanisms aimed at stimulating market actors to design and deliver appropriate products, services and financing, geared towards scaling provision of affordable and decent housing for low income people. The best practices are expected to be shared with similar initiatives in Bulgaria, Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Ron Terwilliger Fellowship has been made available for a qualified professional that is planned to assist Habitat Macedonia with the project implementation.
