Support for Nationwide Buildings Typology and Energy Assessment
The long anticipated nationwide energy performance assessment of the residential buildings in Macedonia has been set to start in February 2020, after the two main supporters of the project, the national Fund for Innovation and Technology Development and Habitat Macedonia confirmed their financial contributions.
The project titled Commercialization of innovative processes for improvement of energy efficiency based on the typology for energy assessment of the residential buildings according to TABULA method, is aimed at developing a comprehensive energy performance assessment of the national housing stock based on Typology Approach for Building Stock Energy Assessment (TABULA) as a method developed by EU research institutions with the support of the Intelligent Energy Europe program. This particular methodology has been recommended by the Macedonian Ministry of Economy as a necessary tool for creating National Strategy for Renovation of Buildings, as stipulated in the recently adopted Energy Efficiency Law.
The project was developed by a consortium led by the research and development firm Megapolis, with Habitat Macedonia’s subsidiaries Finerti and Habidom being consortium partners that provided key inputs for the project design and implementation. Habitat Macedonia’s support includes REELIH and TCIS funds.
